Fiber Rigidiser – Code 7811
| An inorganic liquid hardening agent for ceramic fibre blanket and board. It produces a hard surface finish with increased resistance to mechanical abrasion and to gas flow erosion. Hardener can be applied by brushing, spraying or dipping.
Ideal for Raku kilns or Rapid fire kilns Rigidiser will help the walls of the kiln made with blanket fibre from being too flaky. It receives its bonding action from the removal of physical water. Bonding may be accelerated by heating or oven drying.

An application rate of one litre per 5 square feet (0.46 m2) of ceramic fiber surface will render a hard surface without completely rigidizing the interior of the ceramic fiber body.
